What is a stablecoin on-ramp?
Definition
A stablecoin on-ramp is a service that converts fiat currency into stablecoins: money leaves a bank account and the equivalent value arrives onchain, minus the conversion cost.
For a business the flow is: pass KYB once, send fiat to the provider's local account, receive USDC or USDT at a quoted rate to a wallet you control. The details that separate providers are the rate against mid-market, which local currencies they accept, how fast the stablecoins arrive, and whether the service holds the licenses your compliance team will ask about.
An on-ramp is half of a round trip. The other half, converting back to fiat in the destination market, is the off-ramp, and cross-border flows need both legs priced together. Codex FX's on/off-ramp quotes the full corridor as one trade: local fiat in, stablecoins across, local fiat out.
